Daisy House

The Daisy House is one of Subiaco’s most unique properties, being designed and hand-built by award-winning Perth architect Brian Klopper in 1978. The Daisy House was one of the first homes in Western Australia to use recycled bricks in its construction and amazingly it also uses old steel railway line from the 1850’s as floor joists and door and window lintels. Old wooden telephone poles and very large wooden beams are also used throughout as structural features. The brief was to renovate the kitchen and bathroom, update all the lighting and replace the recycled windows and doors originally used with bespoke steel-framed windows and doors without compromising Klopper's authenticity.
